Tourism Travel Industry
The North Dakota travel and tourism industry is made up of more than 2,800 businesses and 42,000 jobs across all counties of North Dakota. From airports to restaurants, fishing guide services to on-stage entertainment, travel in North Dakota generates more than $3 billion in traveler spending.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce and the North Dakota Department of Transportation have collaborated to place travel information in fifteen rest areas along major traffic corridors across the state.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce is accepting proposals for the Tribal Tourism Grants. The department has been appropriated funds available in the amount of $100,000 to eligible organizations. A tribal government that shares geography with the State of North Dakota may apply to the Department of Commerce for a grant of up to $20,000.
Tourism and Community Enhancement Grants aimed at enhancing tourism, community infrastructure, and historic preservation across the state.
The Destination Development Grant Program provides financial support for the development or expansion of tourism experiences and attractions that contribute to North Dakota’s economic growth and diversification.
