The Difference Service Makes
Service is one of those things that's hard to measure and impossible to overstate.
Serve ND believes that strong communities don't happen by accident. They're nurtured by people who show up and care deeply. This page is a reflection of what that showing up looks like, in numbers, in programs, and in the lives of the people our members serve.

Grant Funding
Investing in North Dakota's Communities
Serve ND administers AmeriCorps grant funding on behalf of the North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Service; directing federal dollars toward local organizations doing meaningful, community-centered work across our state.
Eligible Grant Applicants
The North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Service conducts an annual competition for AmeriCorps funding.
The following types of organizations and agencies are eligible to participate:
- State and local nonprofit organizations
- Community and faith-based organizations
- State, local, and higher education institutions
- State and local governments
- U.S. territories
Participant Incentives
In addition to the experience they receive and the knowledge that they have made a difference, Serve ND volunteers may also be eligible to receive a living allowance, health insurance, child care, and an education award based upon the successful completion of a service term. Education awards can be used to repay school loans or tuition. Read more about education awards at segal-americorps-education-award.
