The North Dakota Department of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2025 Tourism and Community Enhancement Grants. Funded by the 69th Legislative Assembly, the grants are designed to enhance tourism, strengthen community infrastructure and preserve historic landmarks across the state.

The following projects have been awarded funding:

Grant Recipients

  • Community Hall Grant 
    Driscoll Community Hall – $175,000 
    For improvements to a multi-function community hall serving rural North Dakota.
  • Historic Opera House Restoration Grant 
    Ellendale Opera House –$250,000 
    For restoration of a pre-1930 opera house that once served as a community entertainment hub.
  • Historic Theater Improvement Grant 
    Marmarth Theater – $233,157.47 
    Park River Theater Association – $16,842.53 
    For enhancements to operational historic theaters constructed prior to 1930.
  • Historic Theater Restoration Matching Grant 
    The Fargo Theatre – $500,000 
    For restoration of a historic theater built before 1930 that remains active in public programming.
  • Medora Transportation Improvement Grant 
    Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation – $1 million 
    For development and operation of a public transportation system in Medora.
  • State Magazine Grant 
    Clearwater Communications – $250,000 
    For support of publishers of an official state magazine that showcases North Dakota’s stories and imagery.
