State Energy Program

The State Energy Program (SEP) promotes energy efficiency and conservation and is supported by financial and technical assistance through the U.S. Department of Energy.

Energy Conservation Grant

The Energy Conservation Grant, administered by the Division of Community Services, assists North Dakota political subdivisions in making energy efficiency improvements to public buildings.

Ethanol Production Incentive

The Ethanol Production Incentive has been replaced with the Ethanol/Low Carbon Fuel Fund and responsibility for this program has been transferred to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture.

Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant

In 2024, the US Department of Energy (DOE) provided grant funds totaling $1.6 million to the State of North Dakota for energy-related efficiency application by smaller communities and counties.

Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund

Funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy, the State of North Dakota has established an Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund (EERFL).
