Overview
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has established requirements for the Home Energy Rebate Programs to help American households save money on energy bills and improve energy efficiency. Each State must apply for these funds and receive DOE approval prior to issuing rebates.
The North Dakota Department of Commerce (Commerce) has applied for and been allocated funding for the DOE’s Home Energy Rebate Program. We are currently waiting for the final approval from the DOE before we can issue the rebates.
The Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) program assists homeowners and renters with whole-house energy-saving retrofits in single-family and multi-family buildings. Commerce is allocated $37.2 million dollars for the HOMES program.
The Home Electrification and Appliances Rebates (HEAR) program helps homeowners and renters make their home more energy-efficient and includes rebates on new electric appliances Commerce is allocated $37.1 million dollars for the HEAR program.
To assist with the implementation and delivery of these programs, Commerce has contracted with Franklin Energy - A recognized leader in delivering innovative energy management solutions.

Program Status:
Commerce has applied for both programs and is awaiting full approval by the Department of Energy.
Neither Energy Rebate Programs have launched and no rebates are currently available.
There is no estimated program launch date.

No one from Commerce or its contractors will attempt to contact you directly regarding this program.
Any offers in North Dakota at this time related to these programs are likely scams or fraudulent.
