The North Dakota Department of Commerce invites North Dakota based film producers to apply for the state’s Motion Picture Production and Recruitment Grant. Eligible applicants must be based in North Dakota, propose a project with filming and production in the state, and demonstrate a history of distributing impactful motion pictures about North Dakota’s land, history and citizens.
Funds totaling $600,000 have been appropriated to this grant program. To apply, email a concise application letter with applicant, point of contact, amount requested, intended uses for the funds requested, examples of previous similar films, and desired outcomes to Mike Jensen, ND Department of Commerce Tourism & Marketing division, at mjjensen@nd.gov by July 31, 2023.
The Motion Picture Production and Recruitment Grant was established to provide a film and theater production grant directly to an organization dedicated to the preservation and honor of North Dakota land, history, and citizens. Film products should showcase the state by telling stories that will instill curiosity and potentially inspire viewers to learn more about North Dakota and to motivate travel.
