North Dakota Ranks #1 on Gallup's Good Jobs Rate for Third Consecutive Year
Gallup, has ranked North Dakota #1 in their annual Good Jobs (GGJ) employment rate rankings for the third consecutive year. The Gallup ranking factored Gallup's GGJ metric tracks the percentage of the U.S. adult population aged 18 and older who are employed full-time at 30 hours per week.

North Dakota UAS Test Site Announces Approval of New Aircraft for Testing
The North Dakota Department of Commerce announced that the Northern Plains Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Test Site has been given an additional operational approval to expand testing capabilities for the UAS industry. The new testing, approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), includes the use of the Hermes 450 unmanned aircraft for research flights in cooperation with North Dakota State University to be conducted from the Hillsboro Municipal Airport.

Research ND Awards Funding Requests Totaling $739,987
The North Dakota Centers of Excellence Commission awarded funding requests for two Research North Dakota Grants totaling $340,000 and four Phase 1 Venture Grants totaling $399,987 for a grand total of $739,987 in research based grants at its meeting held February 2.

APUC Committed to Funding Requests Totaling $193,317
The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) awarded funding requests for six projects totaling $193,317 at its quarterly meeting February 18th in Fargo. APUC is a committee of the North Dakota Department of Commerce that administers grant programs for researching and developing new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products.

North Dakota Tourism Announces Josh Duhamel as Face of 2016 Advertising Campaign
North Dakota Tourism announced international celebrity and North Dakota native Josh Duhamel will be the face of its new advertising campaign for 2016. The campaign, launched in January 2016, is part of North Dakota Tourism’s ongoing efforts to market the state to visitors nationwide. Throughout the 2016 campaign, Duhamel showcases a variety of experiences for North Dakota visitors, such as exploring state history, family adventure, outdoors, and up-and-coming city attractions, among other experiences throughout the state. Also highlighted is North Dakota’s Theodore Roosevelt National Park, tying into the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary in 2016. The campaign will include television, print, digital ads and billboards, along with North Dakota’s Hunting and Fishing Guide and Travel Guide.
“I was truly honored to have been approached with the opportunity to showcase North Dakota as a welcoming, friendly destination in the state’s new advertising campaign,” said Duhamel. “I hope this collaboration will inspire more visitors to experience what I’ve known for years – that visiting North Dakota is nothing short of legendary.”
