The Child Care Grant Program assists child care facilities to increase the capacity of child care in North Dakota. All available funding has been awarded for the 2015-2017 biennium.
Funds have been allocated for the biennium to assist in the expansion or creation of child care facilities. A total allocation of $2,250,000 has been made available, with awards ranging from $20,000 - $187,500. Grant applications must meet a match requirement of one dollar of matching funds for every three dollars of grant funds. Cash match only.
Eligible organizations include:
- Existing licensed profit, non-profit and public child care facilities are eligible for this program. Facilities must operate full time and must increase capacity.
- New programs that will be licensed upon completion of the project are also eligible.
- In home daycare providers will only be consider if the project proposal moves the business operations outside of the provider's residence and increases the capacity of the facility.
The first round of applications were accepted between June 1, 2015 and July 15, 2015. A second application round was accepted between November 12, 2015 and November 25, 2015. No additional application acceptance periods are anticipated.
